Zinc lamellar coatings

Zinc flake is a coating composed by zinc an aluminum flakes dispersion in a water organic matrix or on a solvent base. Application is made random through dip-spin process (dipping and centrifugation) and afterwards drying. Deposits obtained give a very good cathodic protection to base metal guaranteeing high corrosion performance, a good aestethic finishing, high resistance to chemical products and, thanks to adding finishing, controlled friction. The possibility to apply few micron thickness makes this kind of coating particularly suitable for pieces requiring high corrosion resistance performances but that at the same time have reduced sizes tolerances. Flexibility of these coatings permits application also on products like springs, washers and elastic rings. Zink flake process application do not include steps which can give place to atomic hydrogen development (ex. pickling and electrodeposition) and so they are suitable for very hard components that, for this reason, are subject to hydrogen embrittlement. Respecting environment and health, coatings do not contain Chromium VI.
